Who are foreign corporate bodies?
A foreign corporate body refers to a business entity incorporated outside India, including companies, institutions, or organizations registered under foreign laws that do business in India through subsidiaries, joint ventures, or branch offices. However, they can also invest in Indian markets without having a physical presence or business operations.
Foreign corporate bodies can invest in Indian markets as foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) or foreign direct investors (FDIs) while complying with SEBI, RBI, and FEMA that govern foreign investments.
