What is TPIN? How do I find my TPIN?

TPIN (Transaction Personal Identification Number) is a unique six-digit code provided by Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL) to authorise the sale of stocks from a demat account.

It replaces the traditional Power of Attorney (PoA), ensuring greater security and control. Investors must enter their TPIN while selling shares. It acts as a second-layer authentication, preventing unauthorized debits and enhancing transparency in stock transactions. TPIN improves security and simplifies online trading.

Steps to Generate CDSL TPIN

  1. Visit CDSL TPIN Portal: Go to CDSL TPIN Generation.

  2. Enter BO ID: Input your 16-digit demat account number (BO ID). You can find your BO ID in Arihant’s app - profile section.

  1. Enter PAN: Provide your PAN number for verification.

  1. Enter captcha code.

  1. Verify OTP: You’ll receive an OTP on your registered mobile and email.

  2. Generate TPIN: After OTP verification, a new 6-digit TPIN will be sent to you via SMS and email.
